Profitable House Cleaner

Build a More Profitable Solo Cleaning Business

A cleaning business that works around your life, not the other

way around.

I built a profitable solo cleaning business working part-time and making more than a full-time income.

Now I help other solo cleaners do the same.

Your Business Is Supposed to

Work for YOU

Whether you’re thinking about starting a cleaning business, just getting started, or you’ve been cleaning for a while...

You want this business to give you something.

More income. More freedom. More choices.

You want good clients you actually enjoy working with. You want to be paid well for the work you do.

And you want to build a business that gives you more, not one that constantly asks more from you.

That’s what a profitable solo cleaning business can do for you.

Now I teach other women how to build their cleaning businesses with the clients, pricing, systems, and structure that make that possible.

Because the goal isn’t just to start a cleaning business.

It’s to build one that changes what’s possible for you

Not Sure What You Should

Be Charging?

If you’re guessing at your cleaning prices, charging by the hour, or wondering whether your jobs are actually paying you enough,

start here. 👇

I created a FREE Flat Rate Pricing Cheat Sheet to help you start thinking about your pricing like a business owner, not just picking a number and hoping it works.

Ready to Put the Pieces Together?

Getting the client is only one part of building a profitable solo cleaning business.

You also need to know how to choose the right clients, define what you clean, price the work, set expectations, protect your time, and create client relationships that are worth keeping.

From Busy to Profitable™

Build a simpler, more profitable solo cleaning business around valuable, long-term recurring clients.

Whether you’re brand-new and want to build your business right from the beginning, or you’ve been cleaning for a while and know parts of your business need to work better, this gives you a clear process to follow.

Inside, you’ll go from pre-screening potential clients to leading the walkthrough, pricing the work, setting policies, booking the client, and building referrals.

Hi, I'm Trisha

I built and ran my own solo residential cleaning business for over 30 years.

I didn’t start out knowing what I was doing. I undercharged, overcleaned, and thought I needed every client who was willing to hire me.

Over time, I learned how to price better, choose better clients, simplify my services, and build a business that worked for my life.

I had clients who stayed with me for 10, 15, even 20+ years, and some of those long-term clients brought $100,000 or more into my business over the years.

Not because I had a team or a huge cleaning company.

I built long-term relationships with the right recurring clients and learned just how valuable one great client could become.

Now I help other women build profitable solo cleaning businesses using what I learned from actually building one myself.

That’s the kind of business I teach now.

50 Cleaning Business Name Ideas

August 07, 2024•6 min read

Before You Choose Your Cleaning Business Name

Choosing a name for your cleaning business can feel like a much bigger decision

than it actually is. You want something that sounds professional.

Something people will remember.

Something that doesn’t sound exactly like every other cleaning business in town.

And if you’ve been sitting there with a notebook full of names wondering which one is “the one,” here’s something I want you to remember:

Your business name matters — but it does not have to be perfect.

You need a name that fits the kind of business you want to build, is easy for clients to remember, and gives you room to grow.

Then you need to move on and start building the actual business behind it.

Starting Your Solo Cleaning Business?

If you’re choosing your business name right now, chances are you’re also trying to figure out what else you need to get in place before you start taking clients.

I created a free Solo Cleaning Business Start-Up Checklist + mini training to help you see the important pieces without trying to figure everything out on your own.

So before you get to the list of 50 cleaning business name ideas, here are a few things I’d think about first.

1. Keep It Easy to Say and Remember

You don’t want potential clients struggling to pronounce your business name or wondering how to spell it when they try to look you up later.

Simple usually wins.

Think about whether someone could hear your business name once and reasonably remember it.

That matters when clients are recommending you to a friend, neighbor, or coworker.

2. Think About the Kind of Business You Want to Build

Your name can help create a first impression.

If you want your business to feel polished and professional, choose something that reflects that.

If you want it to feel warm and approachable, your name can reflect that too.

And if you plan to stay focused on residential house cleaning, you may want the name to make that clear.

You don’t need to make this complicated.

Ask yourself:

Does this name sound like a business I would feel comfortable hiring to come into my home?

That’s a pretty good filter.

3. Be Careful With Trendy or Overused Cleaning Words

There’s nothing wrong with words like:

  • Sparkle

  • Shine

  • Spotless

  • Fresh

  • Clean

  • Tidy

  • Gleam

They’re popular because people immediately associate them with cleaning.

The problem is when your name sounds almost identical to ten other cleaning businesses nearby.

If you use one of those words, try pairing it with something more personal or distinctive.

That could be:

A Few More Ways to Come Up With Your Own Name

If none of those feel quite right, try building your own.

Start with one word from each category.

Cleaning or Home Words

Clean
Fresh
Tidy
Bright
Home
House
Nest
Space
Shine
Neat
Pure
Pristine

Feeling Words

Calm
Comfort
Simple
Happy
Welcome
Easy
Peaceful
Fresh
Bright

Personal Words

Your first name
Your last name
Your initials
Your town or area
A word that has personal meaning to you

Then start combining them.

You may end up with something as simple as:

[Your Name] Home Cleaning

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

A cleaning business name does not need to be clever to be professional.

Before You Choose Your Cleaning Business Name

Run it through these final questions:

Can people pronounce it easily?

Can they spell it after hearing it?

Does it sound professional when I say it out loud?

Would I be comfortable putting it on my website, invoices, and Google Business Profile?

Is anyone else in my area already using something very similar?

Does it still make sense for the business I want to build?

If the answer is yes, you probably have a perfectly good business name.

Pick it.

Then move on to the parts that will actually build the business.

Got Your Name? Here’s What Comes Next.

Once you’ve chosen your cleaning business name, the next question is usually:

“Okay...what do I actually need before I start taking clients?”

That’s exactly why I created my free Solo Cleaning Business Start-Up Checklist.

It will help you see the important pieces you need to start putting in place as you build your business, without trying to piece everything together from random advice online.
